Modeling satisfaction can be built on three simple propositions: Nickel Plate is the best railroad; Berkshires are the best engines, and O Scale/1:48 is the best, most satisfying, scale in which to model. Put them together and you have NickelPlate48.com, a website and forum for furthering Nickel Plate railroading and modeling in O Scale. If you agree with these points, this is a place for you. Welcome!

NickelPlate48.com provides a place for Nickel Plate O Scalers to gather and exchange information, provide a non-commercial place to buy/sell/trade NKP O Scale models, and to further cooperation on, and access to, Nickel Plate O Scale parts and projects.  Notes, stories, and “want ads” regarding NKP O Scale can be posted.

To plug into the NKP OS2R community and support organizations that are share our interests, we encourage membership in the Nickel Plate Road Historical and Technical Society (NKPHTS.org) and O Scale Central (OScaleCentral.com).  That said, no memberships are required to participate in this group and the website.

Thanks to the efforts of several Nickel Plate O Scalers, we have a variety of O Scale parts to detail and upgrade O Scale Berkshires and other NKP models.  These parts are listed on the Berkshire Backshop.

To be added to the NickelPlate48 group and receive occasional updates, click the “Subscribe” button in the upper right hand corner of the page. You do not have to be a Nickel Plate modeler, a Berkshire fan or an O Scaler. It is enough that you are interested.

This will all be informal. There will be no officers, dues, or any other structure.  It is just us. The website will be accessible. Anyone (other than scammers and nutcases) can join the group; we are always looking for converts to Nickel Plate, to Berkshires, and to O Scale. So sign up and sign up your friends. If you do not want to receive these messages or participate in the group, let us know and we will take you off the list.

Send sign-ups, referrals, comments and questions through David Vaughn at NKPOS2R@gmail.com. Volunteers, suggestions and ideas (particularly to improve the website) are welcome. If you have an article or a topic you would like to discuss, please forward it for posting.  Thanks.
